Developmental Programming

Our developmental programming is based on the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Framework, which combine contemporary and traditional ways of thinking about and planning educational programs.  Both frameworks have a strong emphasis on play-based learning and recognise the importance of communication and language (including early literacy and numeracy) together with social and emotional development.

The developmental programs are planned by the educators in conjunction with our Educational Leader to include play-based experiences for children across all developmental areas.

In order to engage children actively in learning, our educators will identify each child’s strengths and interests through observations and jottings.  Educators will then choose appropriate teaching strategies and design the learning environment.  Educators will facilitate children’s learning by responding to the children’s individual and group interests and needs, and providing planned and spontaneous developmentally and culturally appropriate activities and experiences.
